Profile Information

About Me:
I am an Australian singer and songwriter who finds herself now living in Austin, Texas after a decent stint in NYC. I came to be living in the U.S. quite accidentally after swearing it was the one country I did not want to go to. When I arrived in NYC, my heart told me it was where I needed to be to grow as an artist and a human. I was not prepared for the warmth of the American people and the passion with which I was embraced, personally and artistically. The attitude of "Yes, you can do that, why not you!!" was foreign and exciting.

I was raised in Townsville, North Queensland on the coast , way up north where the cicadas are so loud and constant, you think you are going insane, the insects are huge and everything is just so....wild and alive. The youngest of 7 children my mother was a wild eyed crazy woman pianist dragged away from the civilization of the city of Melbourne to live in the sticks of the wild North.

When I was 7 she had a car accident that changed her wicked ways and left her severely brain damaged. My life pretty much revolved around taking care of her (her instability had driven most of the older kids away before she had the accident). I had no hopeful personal hopes or dreams until one day I was singing along with the Rocky Horror Picture show soundtrack and I heard small quiet voice say 'maybe you could be a singer' This voice I immediately squashed, thinking it the most ridiculous thing I had ever heard. It would not be squashed however, and it just kept on whispering until it was so strong I allowed it to lead me forth.

This is the short compact version..there's much more dirt and drama to that story, but that voice is as strong today as it was then, and my life revolves around writing songs and singing. I have recorded 4 CD's of my original songs. After years of trying to put myself in a musical box and failing, getting great reviews, being a finalist in 8 major songwriting competitions, touring, I have come to realize that this is my art, Always developing and growing, not to everyones taste, people seem love it or hate it, my voice, my songs, are an expression of everything I am.

I have made my previous CD's with the assistance and artistic contributions of a number of talented musicians and producers who are drawn to what I do. I have a bunch of new songs and I am recording demos currently.

The songs on this page are from my last CD " Mad Mad Love"
