- "Nachilus Kezuck, De Gorilla Warrior"Is what he yells out to the audience as he comes on stage. Born and raised in St. Ann on the beautiful island of Jamaica, this talented, up and coming Reggae Dancehall NuRoots artist’s love of music began for him as a child where he created rhythmic poems that later were turned into verses for songs. Nachilus is described as a very conscious, aggressive, and versatile artist but yet he continues to remain very humble. †† In 1997, Nachilus was given his chance to make his debut. This chance was given to him and to two other prominent artists; Hawkman, and Terri Lion (formally known as Terri Dread) by the "Bigga Mention" label. The trio co-wrote and recorded a song titled, "Three the Yard Way". This single showed the versatility of the artists in that of both the Hip-Hop and Reggae world. †† Nachilus has performed locally and abroad in his career. He has also shared the stage with some of the Reggae world’s top artists, such as; Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Danny Tucker, Elephant Man, Frisco Kid, Future Troubles, Kiprich, Kirk Davis, Lucky Dube, Merciless, Ninja Kid, Roundhead, Silver Cat, Sizzla, T.O.K., Turbulence, and Wayne Wonder, just to name a few. These performances have given Nachilus a chance to learn from the veterans up close and personal. ìDe Gorilla Warriorî says he receives his greatest satisfaction from just sharing his songs with the world. †† In addition to his above accomplishments, Nachilus has recorded a number of cameos with the following artists: popular Reggae Roots singer Danny Tucker and his song album titled, "True To the Roots", X-MIX URBAN SERIES 72 COMPILATION CD song titled, ìNaughty Girlî by Beyonce, X-MIX URBAN SERIES 81 COMPILATION CD song titled, ìSoldierî by Destinyís Child feat. Lilí Wayne and T.I., internationally known Greek singers Helena Paparizou and Hristos Pazis, and the list goes on and on. The proof is evident that his presence and reputation resonates louder and more powerful than any biography can explain. †† Beyond all the writing, performing, and recording, Nachilus has earned recognition for his work, including two nominations at the 2nd Annual 2007 New England Urban Music Awards (NEUMA) in Boston, Massachusetts. He was nominated for Best Male Caribbean Artist and Best Single-ìWarî, where he took home an award in both categories. He was also nominated at the 2007 MASS CANN/NORML award show for Best Marijuana song-ìGreen Island Journeyî, where he took home the award in that category. He also had four nominations at the 2nd Annual 2007 JHMA (The Joe Higgs Music Awards), where he took home an award for Songwriter of the Year. Nachilus has learned that the secret to success in the entertainment business goes beyond that of just talent. ìYou must educate yourself about the different aspects of the industry; not only that of what you’re focused on as an artist, but also that of the people working with you, around you, and for youî, Nachilus states. His debut album titled, "B.E.A.M.D.O.W.N." will be marketed and distributed by Gorilla Warriors Entertainment in the near future and to a store near you. 2. Over time the artist is able to repay the loan via sales of digital downloads of their music that is distributed through Microfundo's media partners at Natonal Geographic and Mondomix.
3. When you get your money back you can re-lend to another artist Campaign or choose to purchase their artists' new releases or you can simply keep your money.
You, the fan, provide microfunding for musicians from one of the unlikely music capitals of the world - the townships of Capetown, South Africa, say, or the favelas in Salvador, Brazil. You are directly engaged in their creative process - making new and completely unique recordings that wouldn't exist without your assistance.
